Who is Mary Ann Kuntz?
Mary Ann Kuntz started the Guiding Light for Seniors company in 2000 as a way to assist Seniors and their families to “get through the Maze” of care issues, legal issues and find Government assistance to help pay for long term care at home, in a nursing home, or in an assisted living facility. She felt there needed to a be a way client’s could have “a Plan of Action” with clear and concise information on Medicaid and related issues to immediately assist them with their problems. She learned from going through the process for her own relatives, that a Medicaid application is never the total answer. That experience helped Mary Ann realize that it is important to understand not only the Senior’s care needs but the concerns and issues of the family as well as they both come in to play with setting up a logical plan of action.
Mary Ann has experience as a former Medicaid worker with over 12 years at the Nassau County Dept of Social Services and as a caregiver to her relatives. This has enabled her to understand the complexities that exist when finding and paying for proper care. Being involved with Medicaid for over 35 years, and filing thousands of applications in the Metro NY counties, she has an in depth knowledge of all the changes to the Medicaid program which enable her to advise clients on all levels and she is well known for her ability to “tweak the system” to fit her clients.
